Basic Machines
Basic machines are what are called Multiblock Machines. The means that they are built by placing the blocks required in the world.
For example the Enhanced Crafting Table is made by placing a Workbench on top of a Dispenser.

Building Basic Machines
To use a Basic Machines you place the items in to the dispenser in the order described in the recipe and punch the block on top of the dispenser with an empty hand.
This will replace the items of the recipe with the crafted item.
